Franchising Questions

What will I receive as part of the In Home Personal Services franchise system?

You and your key management staff will have up to fourteen concurrent days of training at a corporate location and you will also receive up to four days of pre-opening help at your own location. We will help with the application process, documentation, forms creation and licensing process - including required surveys - in compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health licensure for Home Services entities, in accordance with the Adm. Code Part 245. You will have access to: all In Home Personal Services trademarks; our local and national referral sources, business partners and professional relationships; trained management and caregiver staff through our own training school; and other exclusive operational tools. You will also receive marketing support and exposure through current and continual marketing efforts conducted by our corporate office. And, we'll provide you with a copy of our confidential operations manual to help you run your business effectively.

What type of prior experience do I need to have?

Special consideration may be made for certain candidates in the healthcare industry; however, it is not necessary to have previous experience in senior care. Client service and business management skills are important. Regardless of your skills or background, we will provide the tools and training you need to run your own In Home Personal Services business. We do, of course, also expect that you have the right amount of capital to invest in the franchise.

How much will the In Home Personal Services franchise investment cost me?

The estimated required investment for a start-up franchise ranges from $76,448 to $118,001. We may refund of 75% of the franchise fee, or all but $7500.00, if you are able to accomplish the initial licensing process on your own. As with any new business venture, it’s important that you have the capital needed to adequately fund your new business.

Are there ongoing fees paid to the franchisor?

Franchisees will be required to pay royalties on a sliding scale, based on gross revenues and ranging from 5.0% to 6.0%. These fees allow us to fund our ongoing support services and the continued development of new products, procedures, marketing tools, training programs, and systems upgrades.

Are there any advertising fees?

Franchisees will be required to spend minimum of 1.5% of revenues or $500 per month, whichever is greater, on local marketing. Franchisees may also be required to contribute up to 1.5% their gross revenues toward a system marketing fund. Funds are used to develop marketing strategies to promote the In Home Personal Services brand and fund the creative costs to develop local franchise marketing materials.

Is financing available?

No, we do not offer direct financing to franchisees. We may be able to provide references to qualified financing or lending agencies, on a case-by-case basis.

What is the term of the franchise agreement?

The initial term of your franchise agreement is ten years, with two subsequent five-year renewal terms.
